Minneapolis
Landscape photography of my birthplace - Minneapolis, Minnesota. Also known as "The City of Lakes", Minneapolis was incorporated in 1867. It became a regional economic hub because of it's proximity to rich farmland, forests, and river transportation (Mississippi River). From 1880-1930 Minneapolis was known as the “Flour Milling Capital of the World”. The city's name is derived from two different sources; "mni" which means "water" in the Dakota Indian language, and the Greek suffix for city - "polis".
